What we do

Codeliance is an AI-powered compliance platform that makes digital regulation actionable. We transform complex online safety laws such as the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), the UK Online Safety Act (OSA), Ireland's Online Safety Code and California's Age-Appropriate Design Code, into clear, testable engineering requirements.

Our technology bridges the persistent gap between legal interpretation and engineering execution. Instead of teams spending months translating "legalese" into product requirements, we automate the process:

Parsing regulations into machine-readable tasks, categorised as technical, procedural, or control-based.
Testing platforms through APIs, UI, and/or source code, verifying obligations such as notice systems, trusted flagger prioritisation, and appeal processes.
Continuous monitoring that updates requirements as regulations evolve, ensuring platforms stay compliant across jurisdictions without costly overhauls.
Compliance dashboards that provide an actionable overview of compliance gaps and clear paths to mitigation.

Codeliance validates compliance behaviour at scale. We deliver faster regulatory readiness, reduce costs, and enable consistent compliance across multiple markets.

We are currently building and refining our platform with early partners, ahead of a commercial launch in 2026.

The Problem we solve

Online safety compliance is entering its most complex era. Platforms must comply with a wave of new regulations - over 26 distinct online safety laws across 19 jurisdictions. The DSA alone carries penalties of up to 6% of global turnover, while the UK OSA reaches 10%. Ireland, India, Australia, and U.S. states are adding further overlapping rules.

Yet today's compliance processes are:

Manual - Legal teams interpret regulations and draft guidance for engineers in a slow, manual manner.
Fragmented - Different jurisdictions impose both unique and overlapping obligations in terms of scopes, definitions, and enforcement timelines.
Costly - Large platforms can afford compliance departments; SMEs and start-ups cannot, leaving them exposed.
Incomplete - Most compliance tools address only a specific segment of regulation, and do not provide an end-to-end view of regulatory readiness.

The biggest challenge is the regulation-to-implementation gap: legal requirements don't arrive as engineering tasks. Lawyers understand the law; engineers build the systems. Translating between the two is slow, manual, and error-prone.

Codeliance closes this gap. We automate the translation of laws into engineering requirements and continuously test platform behaviours for compliance. This eliminates costly hand-offs, reduces regulatory risk, and ensures platforms can comply at the speed of code.
